1
00:00:42,626 --> 00:00:43,666
[This drama is a work of fiction.]
2
00:00:43,666 --> 00:00:44,711
[Any resemblance to real persons,
places, or events is coincidental.]
3
00:00:44,711 --> 00:00:45,736
[Scenes with child actors and animals
were filmed safely]
4
00:00:45,736 --> 00:00:47,297
[under professional supervision.]
5
00:00:47,297 --> 00:00:50,876
[One year later]
6
00:00:52,215 --> 00:00:55,104
My part in this story is over.
7
00:01:06,250 --> 00:01:08,785
Deep down, I knew all along.
8
00:01:13,918 --> 00:01:18,586
From the start, I was just a side character,
following someone else's script,
9
00:01:25,500 --> 00:01:29,222
caught in a web spun by the people on top.
10
00:02:04,833 --> 00:02:07,385
Inside that hell,
11
00:02:11,000 --> 00:02:13,808
the worthless dream I carried
12
00:02:14,631 --> 00:02:17,645
didn't stand a chance.
13
00:02:19,959 --> 00:02:21,265
Pull yourself together.
14
00:02:21,265 --> 00:02:23,901
Even so, in that hell...
15
00:02:25,918 --> 00:02:26,939
Pull yourself together!
16
00:02:26,939 --> 00:02:30,950
Should my leaving light
even the faintest flame,
17
00:02:31,818 --> 00:02:33,459
out of this miserable destiny...
18
00:02:33,459 --> 00:02:36,277
For God's sake, pull yourself together.
19
00:02:36,277 --> 00:02:39,792
that alone would've made it all worthwhile.
20
00:02:42,209 --> 00:02:44,172
No.
21
00:02:47,167 --> 00:02:49,093
No.
22
00:02:53,626 --> 00:02:55,558
Please...
23
00:03:21,334 --> 00:03:22,792
Sang Ah.
24
00:03:22,792 --> 00:03:24,754
Are you okay?
25
00:03:57,346 --> 00:03:58,906
Simply sharing the same stage
26
00:03:58,906 --> 00:04:01,020
[Final Episode]
was exciting and such a privilege.
27
00:04:01,020 --> 00:04:03,326
Performing with her in particular,
28
00:04:03,326 --> 00:04:05,162
I've received so many wonderful sparks
of motivation...
29
00:04:05,162 --> 00:04:08,751
[Avoid mentions of the late Hwang Jeong Won]
My question is for actress Chu Sang Ah.
30
00:04:08,751 --> 00:04:11,083
While shooting, one of the film's clips
31
00:04:11,083 --> 00:04:14,337
got confused for actual leaked material,
32
00:04:14,337 --> 00:04:16,959
and it became a whole thing.
33
00:04:16,959 --> 00:04:20,000
What was going through your mind at the time?
34
00:04:20,000 --> 00:04:21,219
Not easy, honestly.
35
00:04:21,219 --> 00:04:22,522
[Four Seasons]
36
00:04:22,522 --> 00:04:26,892
I comforted myself by thinking it just proved
how convincing my performance was.
37
00:04:26,892 --> 00:04:29,425
On top of that,
it gave the movie free publicity,
38
00:04:29,425 --> 00:04:31,250
so we tried tracking down who was behind it.
39
00:04:31,250 --> 00:04:34,900
[Actress Chu Sang Ah]
The studio tried to give that person a bonus,
40
00:04:34,900 --> 00:04:39,022
but they must've gotten nervous
because nobody ever owned up.
41
00:04:39,022 --> 00:04:40,922
Appreciate the response.
42
00:04:40,922 --> 00:04:43,992
Would it be okay to squeeze in one more?
43
00:04:43,992 --> 00:04:47,198
Of course, seems like there's more.
Please, go on.
44
00:04:47,198 --> 00:04:50,123
Much appreciated. Just one more thing.
45
00:04:50,123 --> 00:04:54,628
That intimate scene between the two women
was absolutely stunning...
46
00:04:57,000 --> 00:04:58,217
Hell of a job out there.
47
00:04:58,217 --> 00:05:00,163
Loved the movie.
48
00:05:00,163 --> 00:05:03,269
And getting into the festival, that's huge.
49
00:05:04,459 --> 00:05:05,889
Thank you.
50
00:05:05,889 --> 00:05:07,732
Couldn't have done it without you.
51
00:05:09,250 --> 00:05:11,520
By the way,
52
00:05:11,520 --> 00:05:13,264
I read you booked your next project.
53
00:05:13,264 --> 00:05:15,156
That's great news.
54
00:05:16,650 --> 00:05:19,118
You seem to be doing well too.
55
00:05:21,209 --> 00:05:24,449
Son Guk Won's campaign brought me on board.
56
00:05:24,449 --> 00:05:28,210
With the presidential race coming up fast,
things are only going to pile up from here.
57
00:05:30,539 --> 00:05:33,591
Nice. I'll be cheering you on.
58
00:05:35,334 --> 00:05:38,471
We should get moving now.
59
00:05:42,417 --> 00:05:44,810
I appreciate you showing up.
60
00:05:45,542 --> 00:05:47,688
Look after yourself.
61
00:05:50,221 --> 00:05:52,151
Sang Ah.
62
00:06:03,083 --> 00:06:05,834
I've got something
63
00:06:05,834 --> 00:06:08,042
to run by you.
64
00:06:18,521 --> 00:06:20,923
Let's get to your Monday morning headlines.
65
00:06:20,923 --> 00:06:24,584
With the heated showdown
between Doyak Party's Son Guk Won
66
00:06:24,584 --> 00:06:26,720
and Changjo Party's Gu Hong Seo still raging,
67
00:06:26,720 --> 00:06:28,680
the latest polls
68
00:06:28,680 --> 00:06:32,525
put Candidate Son
at the top in approval ratings.
69
00:06:36,271 --> 00:06:37,814
[The assemblyman has confirmed it]
70
00:06:37,814 --> 00:06:38,828
[Campaign Manager Lee Chan Yong]
71
00:06:48,074 --> 00:06:51,001
[22nd Presidential Election Debate]
72
00:07:01,180 --> 00:07:03,180
Reconsider this, sir.
73
00:07:03,180 --> 00:07:06,593
Voters today are levelheaded and sharp.
74
00:07:06,593 --> 00:07:10,120
Some tearjerker bit about a vintage watch
isn't fooling anyone.
75
00:07:10,120 --> 00:07:12,641
Changjo doesn't have proof regardless,
76
00:07:12,641 --> 00:07:14,613
so no matter what they hurl at me,
77
00:07:14,613 --> 00:07:17,100
brush it off as groundless smear tactics.
78
00:07:17,100 --> 00:07:19,572
If I may, sir, just a second.
79
00:07:22,609 --> 00:07:24,069
Sure, that buys us time today,
80
00:07:24,069 --> 00:07:26,608
but it won't turn the tide in our direction.
81
00:07:26,608 --> 00:07:27,918
Winning this election
82
00:07:27,918 --> 00:07:30,700
takes a narrative that hits people in the gut.
83
00:07:30,700 --> 00:07:32,542
Once we can predict
84
00:07:32,542 --> 00:07:34,412
what Changjo's throwing at us, like today,
85
00:07:34,412 --> 00:07:36,334
dropping our counter
at precisely the right beat
86
00:07:36,334 --> 00:07:38,333
makes your integrity
87
00:07:38,333 --> 00:07:40,843
and patriotism land even harder.
88
00:07:43,468 --> 00:07:45,888
Fair enough.
89
00:07:45,888 --> 00:07:49,094
Nobody knows their playbook better than you,
90
00:07:49,094 --> 00:07:51,479
considering you were one of them.
91
00:07:56,435 --> 00:07:58,360
Sir.
92
00:08:02,125 --> 00:08:04,443
Tonight will be the spark
93
00:08:04,443 --> 00:08:06,702
that sets off our upward trajectory from here.
94
00:08:27,966 --> 00:08:30,375
Your loyalty, I can't count on.
95
00:08:30,375 --> 00:08:32,603
But that mind of yours, I believe in.
96
00:08:34,264 --> 00:08:36,204
I appreciate that.
97
00:08:48,362 --> 00:08:51,622
Leave the timing to me.
98
00:08:56,786 --> 00:08:58,288
[22nd Presidential Election Debate]
99
00:08:58,288 --> 00:09:01,250
Out of every candidate in this race,
100
00:09:01,250 --> 00:09:04,378
not one has less moral credibility
than Candidate Son.
101
00:09:04,378 --> 00:09:06,876
Between the Daeyang Fund slush accounts,
102
00:09:06,876 --> 00:09:11,378
corporate kickbacks, and abuse of power,
103
00:09:11,378 --> 00:09:13,377
that's only what we already know about.
104
00:09:13,377 --> 00:09:16,097
Imagine what else will turn up
once we start digging.
105
00:09:16,097 --> 00:09:18,450
Is this really the person we'd trust
106
00:09:18,450 --> 00:09:20,143
to carry this nation on his shoulders?
107
00:09:20,143 --> 00:09:23,017
Those recordings from the general election
108
00:09:23,017 --> 00:09:25,524
were confirmed as forgeries.
Didn't we already settle that?
109
00:09:25,524 --> 00:09:27,776
What makes you keep pushing falsehoods
110
00:09:27,776 --> 00:09:29,922
with nothing to back them up?
111
00:09:29,922 --> 00:09:32,705
You plan on dodging this
all the way to the finish?
112
00:09:34,408 --> 00:09:35,954
[Transcript of Daeyang Fund]
What we've gathered alone is
113
00:09:35,954 --> 00:09:37,911
more than enough for a warrant.
114
00:09:37,911 --> 00:09:40,079
There isn't a doubt in my mind
115
00:09:40,079 --> 00:09:43,666
that you're lying to our faces.
116
00:09:43,666 --> 00:09:44,751
Should I be mistaken,
117
00:09:44,751 --> 00:09:47,295
I'll resign from this race
118
00:09:47,295 --> 00:09:51,724
and surrender everything I own.
119
00:09:52,480 --> 00:09:56,312
So what are you willing to stake?
120
00:10:10,000 --> 00:10:12,459
My grandfather carried this watch
121
00:10:12,459 --> 00:10:16,058
through the independence movement in the 1930s.
122
00:10:16,058 --> 00:10:19,585
It's been our family's
most sacred possession ever since.
123
00:10:26,932 --> 00:10:29,470
Can you see the blood on it?
124
00:10:30,359 --> 00:10:32,334
Should I
125
00:10:32,334 --> 00:10:34,527
really be the symbol of corruption,
126
00:10:34,527 --> 00:10:38,209
some fossil dragging Korean politics backwards,
127
00:10:38,209 --> 00:10:41,888
then I'll walk away from this election today.
128
00:10:41,888 --> 00:10:43,792
- Yet.
- Yet
129
00:10:43,792 --> 00:10:46,292
- Every single day, I hold this watch
- every single day,
130
00:10:46,292 --> 00:10:47,988
- and remind myself that
- I hold this watch
131
00:10:47,988 --> 00:10:49,667
- and remind myself that...
- our forebears built this country
132
00:10:49,667 --> 00:10:51,049
through blood and sacrifice.
133
00:10:51,049 --> 00:10:53,167
our forebears built this country
through blood and sacrifice.
134
00:10:53,167 --> 00:10:54,696
Every fiber of my being
135
00:10:54,696 --> 00:10:56,663
- has gone...
- Every fiber of my being
136
00:10:56,663 --> 00:10:58,450
- into serving this nation.
- has gone into serving this nation.
137
00:10:58,450 --> 00:11:00,410
But
138
00:11:00,410 --> 00:11:03,067
if baseless attacks
139
00:11:03,067 --> 00:11:07,299
and character assassination are your game,
be my guest.
140
00:11:08,067 --> 00:11:11,512
Let the citizens of this nation
decide what's real.
141
00:11:15,717 --> 00:11:18,018
In that spirit,
142
00:11:18,751 --> 00:11:20,959
I'm staking this seat,
143
00:11:20,959 --> 00:11:23,626
[22nd Presidential Election Debate]
every last thing I own,
144
00:11:23,626 --> 00:11:25,314
along with...
145
00:11:25,314 --> 00:11:29,486
a century of my family's devotion
146
00:11:29,486 --> 00:11:31,615
to this country.
147
00:11:36,473 --> 00:11:38,125
Well then, Candidate Gu,
148
00:11:38,125 --> 00:11:40,582
prepared to step down?
149
00:11:42,000 --> 00:11:43,495
Wait.
150
00:11:43,495 --> 00:11:44,621
Just a moment.
151
00:11:44,621 --> 00:11:46,956
All nine minutes of Candidate Gu Hong Seo's
152
00:11:46,956 --> 00:11:49,011
initiative segment have been exhausted.
153
00:11:49,011 --> 00:11:50,418
Candidate Son Guk Won,
154
00:11:50,418 --> 00:11:52,803
the floor is yours for your initiative debate.
155
00:11:58,551 --> 00:12:01,083
[TV debate heats up over allegations]
Thank you.
156
00:12:01,083 --> 00:12:03,941
That was incredible, sir.
157
00:12:03,941 --> 00:12:04,949
Congratulations.
158
00:12:04,949 --> 00:12:07,693
Congratulations, sir.
159
00:12:12,065 --> 00:12:15,902
The watch moment peaked at over 40% viewership.
160
00:12:15,902 --> 00:12:19,879
And the whole thing buried
the ethics scandal completely.
161
00:12:19,879 --> 00:12:22,242
I figured it was old-school,
162
00:12:22,242 --> 00:12:25,279
but the classics never fail.
163
00:12:25,279 --> 00:12:28,088
Born strategist, born showman.
164
00:12:49,978 --> 00:12:51,271
Director,
165
00:12:51,271 --> 00:12:55,125
tonight went perfectly.
Why are we having this conversation again?
166
00:12:55,125 --> 00:12:58,334
If I rush the insurance reform play,
167
00:12:58,334 --> 00:13:01,406
I'm just loading the gun for Gu Hong Seo.
168
00:13:01,406 --> 00:13:03,626
And that gossip floating
around the trading floors,
169
00:13:03,626 --> 00:13:05,202
that I'll hand you
170
00:13:05,202 --> 00:13:09,250
WR Life shares once I'm sworn in,
171
00:13:09,250 --> 00:13:11,815
you don't think the Changjo Party planted that?
172
00:13:11,815 --> 00:13:14,718
Look.
173
00:13:19,130 --> 00:13:21,892
Hey, get it together!
174
00:13:28,350 --> 00:13:30,171
Sir.
175
00:13:30,171 --> 00:13:33,187
You seem to have a short memory
about everything I did
176
00:13:33,187 --> 00:13:36,899
to build you up and carry you here.
177
00:13:36,899 --> 00:13:40,792
Where you go from here is still in my hands.
178
00:13:40,792 --> 00:13:43,872
Don't forget that.
179
00:13:44,908 --> 00:13:47,963
One wrong turn from me,
180
00:13:47,963 --> 00:13:51,998
and you're off the edge. It's that simple.
181
00:13:51,998 --> 00:13:55,623
Chairman Kwon could go any day now,
182
00:13:55,623 --> 00:13:57,584
so quit stalling
183
00:13:57,584 --> 00:14:00,799
and get the inheritance law amendment lined up
184
00:14:00,799 --> 00:14:03,886
before you even sit down in that chair.
185
00:14:03,886 --> 00:14:05,686
We clear?
186
00:14:15,672 --> 00:14:18,991
Who does she think she's playing...
187
00:15:07,100 --> 00:15:08,999
Want a drink?
188
00:15:38,563 --> 00:15:40,447
So,
189
00:15:41,292 --> 00:15:43,910
that thing you said you needed to discuss,
190
00:15:43,910 --> 00:15:45,994
what is it?
191
00:15:51,751 --> 00:15:54,127
I'm going to pry Lee Yang Mi
192
00:15:55,542 --> 00:15:58,423
off of Son's back.
193
00:16:04,334 --> 00:16:05,868
Lee Yang Mi's dropped the mask,
194
00:16:05,868 --> 00:16:09,229
and the cracks between them
are already showing.
195
00:16:09,229 --> 00:16:11,180
Son already knows that even if he wins,
196
00:16:11,180 --> 00:16:15,842
he's just going to be Lee Yang Mi's puppet,
197
00:16:15,842 --> 00:16:18,469
so I'll work on him
198
00:16:18,469 --> 00:16:22,593
and build a financial cushion
to replace Lee Yang Mi's bankroll
199
00:16:22,593 --> 00:16:24,992
when the moment's right.
200
00:16:26,459 --> 00:16:30,562
You're deep inside both Son's
and Lee Yang Mi's circles right now.
201
00:16:31,416 --> 00:16:34,909
You're willing to risk all that? To do what?
202
00:16:34,909 --> 00:16:38,620
If I don't move now,
she's going to eat me alive all over again.
203
00:16:38,620 --> 00:16:40,918
I can't let her ruin
204
00:16:40,918 --> 00:16:43,343
what I've spent my whole life chasing.
205
00:16:44,375 --> 00:16:46,373
And you
206
00:16:46,373 --> 00:16:49,391
can't keep getting stepped on either.
207
00:16:56,375 --> 00:16:58,567
And I...
208
00:17:01,083 --> 00:17:03,697
I want you back too.
209
00:17:13,490 --> 00:17:15,138
After all of it,
210
00:17:15,138 --> 00:17:18,587
I thought I'd lost you for good.
211
00:17:20,833 --> 00:17:22,708
But that year without you,
212
00:17:22,708 --> 00:17:26,417
I realized just how much of you was in me.
213
00:17:26,417 --> 00:17:29,132
Getting hit, falling down,
214
00:17:29,132 --> 00:17:32,309
but knowing you were somewhere out there,
looking the same direction...
215
00:17:33,097 --> 00:17:35,937
that's what kept me standing.
216
00:17:45,158 --> 00:17:47,032
Yeah...
217
00:17:48,250 --> 00:17:51,161
I guess we really were alike.
218
00:17:54,907 --> 00:17:58,627
Sleeping alone, waking up alone in this house,
219
00:17:59,955 --> 00:18:02,464
I had the exact same thought.
220
00:18:04,834 --> 00:18:07,852
I was looking too.
221
00:18:07,852 --> 00:18:10,472
A way to destroy Lee Yang Mi.
222
00:18:17,781 --> 00:18:20,690
There's someone I need to see first.
223
00:18:38,367 --> 00:18:40,287
I'm meeting Assemblyman Choi
from the Changjo Party
224
00:18:40,287 --> 00:18:43,088
and giving him something
he can't walk away from.
225
00:18:59,681 --> 00:19:04,686
The Doyak Party's mastermind
never picked up my calls,
226
00:19:04,686 --> 00:19:07,709
and now you come to me. What an honor.
227
00:19:07,709 --> 00:19:09,823
These are original documents
228
00:19:10,500 --> 00:19:13,444
containing part of the testimony
229
00:19:13,444 --> 00:19:16,530
from a key insider in the Daeyang Fund.
230
00:19:16,530 --> 00:19:19,867
Son doesn't even know this exists,
231
00:19:19,867 --> 00:19:22,417
so he can't fight it,
232
00:19:22,417 --> 00:19:26,006
and the impact will be enormous.
233
00:19:26,640 --> 00:19:29,710
If you'd played this
during last year's election,
234
00:19:29,710 --> 00:19:32,596
the whole outcome could've been different.
235
00:19:33,361 --> 00:19:36,867
Why hold it back until now?
236
00:19:36,867 --> 00:19:38,887
Let's just say I was keeping it
for a day like this.
237
00:19:38,887 --> 00:19:40,930
I play the long game too.
238
00:19:40,930 --> 00:19:43,106
That election was never the endgame.
239
00:19:43,106 --> 00:19:45,609
That takes real nerve.
240
00:19:46,792 --> 00:19:50,023
Regardless, the files are password-locked.
241
00:19:50,023 --> 00:19:53,125
Pick the release date with me,
242
00:19:53,125 --> 00:19:55,619
and I'll send over the password.
243
00:20:02,213 --> 00:20:05,212
This is Candidate Gu's handwritten pledge.
244
00:20:08,283 --> 00:20:10,746
[Changjo Party]
245
00:20:10,746 --> 00:20:13,587
[I'll guarantee Bang Tae Seop the No. 3 PR slot]
Proportional seat number three, it's yours.
246
00:20:13,587 --> 00:20:14,924
Under the radar,
247
00:20:14,924 --> 00:20:18,225
but right where the spotlight hits.
248
00:20:22,139 --> 00:20:24,147
Understood.
249
00:20:26,918 --> 00:20:29,069
I'll be waiting for your call.
250
00:20:31,564 --> 00:20:33,375
Once the Changjo Party takes the bait,
251
00:20:33,375 --> 00:20:36,820
they'll set it off right on cue,
252
00:20:36,820 --> 00:20:39,538
and when Son's cornered,
253
00:20:43,952 --> 00:20:48,630
I'll offer to make it go away and cut a deal.
254
00:20:50,159 --> 00:20:51,709
This is a copy of the USB
255
00:20:51,709 --> 00:20:54,052
that Hwang Jeong Won left before she died.
256
00:21:00,608 --> 00:21:02,854
I handed Lee Yang Mi a version
257
00:21:02,854 --> 00:21:05,848
with the dashcam footage wiped,
the part that proves she's the one
258
00:21:05,848 --> 00:21:08,934
behind Park Jae Sang's death.
259
00:21:08,934 --> 00:21:11,645
[Phone records]
260
00:21:11,645 --> 00:21:13,284
I cleaned it so thoroughly
that even a forensic sweep won't find it.
261
00:21:13,284 --> 00:21:15,448
She has no reason to doubt it.
262
00:21:16,068 --> 00:21:18,326
But on this copy,
263
00:21:18,968 --> 00:21:21,913
that dashcam footage is still there.
264
00:21:28,459 --> 00:21:30,463
Jeong Won...
265
00:21:31,434 --> 00:21:34,634
she knew everything.
266
00:21:44,584 --> 00:21:47,772
I was tired of being a coward.
267
00:22:15,869 --> 00:22:18,143
This is basically the original
of Oh Kwang Jae's list,
268
00:22:18,143 --> 00:22:20,639
the one that's gone now.
269
00:22:25,137 --> 00:22:28,893
[He said he'd introduce me
to the big boss who's funding the drama]
270
00:22:28,893 --> 00:22:31,441
I started writing everything down
when I was twenty,
271
00:22:33,164 --> 00:22:36,488
before that bastard ever asked me to.
272
00:22:39,792 --> 00:22:43,184
I kept going back and forth
273
00:22:43,184 --> 00:22:46,371
about just blowing it all open,
274
00:22:46,371 --> 00:22:49,292
or finding a way to take down those men
275
00:22:50,125 --> 00:22:52,746
and Lee Yang Mi in one shot.
276
00:22:52,746 --> 00:22:55,601
[I couldn't get away when he grabbed my arm]
277
00:22:55,601 --> 00:22:58,977
[No, I didn't even try to run.
That's what's so haunting right now]
278
00:23:07,513 --> 00:23:09,604
Are you sure about this?
279
00:23:11,876 --> 00:23:14,859
The stakes are high.
280
00:23:19,459 --> 00:23:22,450
You're putting just as much on the line.
281
00:23:24,500 --> 00:23:27,372
And I trust we won't fail.
282
00:23:42,756 --> 00:23:45,492
Then all that's left
283
00:23:45,492 --> 00:23:48,667
is turning every man in this diary
284
00:23:48,667 --> 00:23:52,772
into a financial cushion for Son,
to replace Lee Yang Mi's pipeline.
285
00:24:37,204 --> 00:24:42,078
I saw the article about your son
being named heir to the group.
286
00:24:42,078 --> 00:24:44,231
I was surprised, honestly.
287
00:24:44,231 --> 00:24:48,564
People don't change easily,
288
00:24:48,564 --> 00:24:50,490
and those were your own words.
289
00:24:50,490 --> 00:24:54,665
He's your son, but the boy's a lost cause.
290
00:24:54,665 --> 00:24:56,836
Get to the point.
291
00:24:59,417 --> 00:25:02,592
Then you remember that day, don't you?
292
00:25:03,211 --> 00:25:06,171
The day your son got behind the wheel drunk
and hit someone.
293
00:25:08,500 --> 00:25:10,308
Watch your mouth.
294
00:25:17,751 --> 00:25:20,479
I happened to be at that same dinner that night
295
00:25:20,479 --> 00:25:23,962
because of the MK commercial shoot.
296
00:25:23,962 --> 00:25:26,324
You remember that, right?
297
00:25:35,460 --> 00:25:38,318
Ji Hyuk was drinking, took the car,
and hit somebody.
298
00:25:38,318 --> 00:25:40,122
Get a replacement driver set up right now.
299
00:25:40,122 --> 00:25:42,584
Find some actor to take the blame,
300
00:25:42,584 --> 00:25:44,503
and buy the witnesses off.
301
00:25:44,503 --> 00:25:47,945
- Get our guys in the prosecution
- Back then my life was such a disaster
302
00:25:47,945 --> 00:25:49,655
- and the police to bury it. Whatever it takes.
- that I recorded every phone call.
303
00:25:49,655 --> 00:25:50,674
Got it?
304
00:25:50,674 --> 00:25:52,918
And you were right there next to me,
completely wasted,
305
00:25:52,918 --> 00:25:55,138
ordering the driver swap,
306
00:25:55,138 --> 00:25:59,268
calling his lawyer, and it's all on tape.
307
00:25:59,268 --> 00:26:02,978
What do you think happens when this gets out
308
00:26:02,978 --> 00:26:05,154
and you're standing in the court
of public opinion?
309
00:26:05,968 --> 00:26:08,315
What the hell do you want?
310
00:26:08,315 --> 00:26:12,042
Some kind of crusade for justice?
311
00:26:12,042 --> 00:26:13,913
Justice?
312
00:26:14,559 --> 00:26:17,417
I don't care about that.
313
00:26:21,417 --> 00:26:24,340
I'm here to shake you down.
314
00:26:33,250 --> 00:26:35,094
Don't waste your time
315
00:26:35,094 --> 00:26:37,437
tracing the accounts.
316
00:26:42,083 --> 00:26:44,167
Fill this with dollars.
317
00:26:44,167 --> 00:26:47,606
It should fit about a million.
318
00:26:47,606 --> 00:26:48,626
[I'm dropping it in five days]
319
00:26:48,626 --> 00:26:51,026
We just got word
that the Changjo Party is getting ready
320
00:26:51,026 --> 00:26:52,654
to drop something big.
321
00:26:52,654 --> 00:26:54,239
What kind of big?
322
00:26:54,239 --> 00:26:56,031
[Doyak Party]
We don't have the specifics yet,
323
00:26:56,031 --> 00:26:57,533
but their leadership is convinced
324
00:26:57,533 --> 00:27:01,375
that once it breaks,
Candidate Gu takes the whole thing.
325
00:27:01,375 --> 00:27:03,247
If we can nail down the timing,
326
00:27:03,247 --> 00:27:05,083
we can prepare a proper counter.
327
00:27:05,083 --> 00:27:08,961
I've dug as far in as I can,
even into their inner circle,
328
00:27:08,961 --> 00:27:11,672
but this is locked down at the very top.
329
00:27:11,672 --> 00:27:13,890
Nearly impossible to crack.
330
00:27:15,626 --> 00:27:18,667
Have the press send over
this month's issue schedule.
331
00:27:18,667 --> 00:27:20,365
Look for the open dates.
332
00:27:20,365 --> 00:27:22,655
Whatever this is, if it's that big,
333
00:27:22,655 --> 00:27:25,205
the Changjo Party won't sit on it long.
334
00:27:25,205 --> 00:27:27,265
Yes, sir. I'll get on it.
335
00:27:27,265 --> 00:27:29,648
I'll prep something to bury
whatever the Changjo Party puts out.
336
00:27:29,648 --> 00:27:32,876
No. This is above your pay grade.
337
00:27:32,876 --> 00:27:34,236
Secretary Kim,
338
00:27:34,236 --> 00:27:36,991
loop in Lee Yang Mi's people
339
00:27:36,991 --> 00:27:39,757
and tell them to move. Now.
340
00:27:39,757 --> 00:27:43,904
With the biggest card they've got in storage.
341
00:27:47,959 --> 00:27:51,386
I swore I'd stop going back to that woman.
342
00:27:58,463 --> 00:28:00,973
The leak moved faster than we expected.
343
00:28:00,973 --> 00:28:03,258
Let's push it up. Day after tomorrow.
344
00:28:03,258 --> 00:28:04,377
That fast?
345
00:28:04,377 --> 00:28:07,098
I was thinking mid-month at the earliest,
maybe even later.
346
00:28:07,098 --> 00:28:10,105
We have to hit first,
before Lee Yang Mi gets her story ready.
347
00:28:10,105 --> 00:28:11,773
If it blindsides us,
348
00:28:11,773 --> 00:28:14,484
Son's scandal gets buried regardless of timing.
349
00:28:14,484 --> 00:28:17,745
I don't know. I'd need to discuss it.
350
00:28:19,449 --> 00:28:21,023
Sir.
351
00:28:21,023 --> 00:28:22,536
We lose this window and it's done.
352
00:28:22,536 --> 00:28:25,044
It's a race against the clock now.
353
00:28:27,513 --> 00:28:28,825
Will you just watch
the presidency go up in smoke?
354
00:28:28,825 --> 00:28:31,542
All right.
355
00:28:31,542 --> 00:28:32,559
I hear you.
356
00:28:32,559 --> 00:28:34,838
I'll handle the candidate.
357
00:28:34,838 --> 00:28:36,681
Jesus.
358
00:28:39,167 --> 00:28:41,227
Idiot.
359
00:28:44,083 --> 00:28:47,567
The woman's voice should
come through perfectly clear now.
360
00:28:56,125 --> 00:28:57,446
Yes, Director.
361
00:28:57,446 --> 00:28:59,065
It's done.
362
00:28:59,065 --> 00:29:01,375
You didn't leave a trace, did you?
363
00:29:01,375 --> 00:29:03,875
It needs to look like a suicide. No exceptions.
364
00:29:10,834 --> 00:29:12,380
[News Director Lee Jae Moon]
365
00:29:12,380 --> 00:29:13,626
This will be
366
00:29:13,626 --> 00:29:16,412
the biggest story to hit this year.
367
00:29:16,412 --> 00:29:18,591
It's done.
368
00:29:18,591 --> 00:29:20,135
You didn't leave a trace, did you?
369
00:29:20,135 --> 00:29:22,643
It needs to look like a suicide. No exceptions.
370
00:29:23,632 --> 00:29:26,183
I get it. WR's your top advertiser,
371
00:29:26,183 --> 00:29:29,859
so this isn't a simple decision.
372
00:29:32,751 --> 00:29:34,608
Even with all the risk,
373
00:29:34,608 --> 00:29:39,042
is there a reason for us to run this?
374
00:29:39,042 --> 00:29:40,822
You can pass.
375
00:29:40,822 --> 00:29:42,375
It's a race
376
00:29:42,375 --> 00:29:44,667
to see who breaks it first,
377
00:29:44,667 --> 00:29:49,122
and I can always walk this over
to another network.
378
00:29:49,122 --> 00:29:52,125
But if I were sitting in your chair,
379
00:29:52,125 --> 00:29:55,885
I'd be prepping the broadcast already.
380
00:29:58,231 --> 00:30:01,626
By tomorrow, I'll have someone "upstairs"
pick up the phone,
381
00:30:01,626 --> 00:30:03,927
call the president of MJN,
382
00:30:03,927 --> 00:30:07,099
and make it an order from the top.
383
00:30:07,099 --> 00:30:10,092
And when that happens, you'll be the one
384
00:30:10,092 --> 00:30:13,152
who let the exclusive slip.
That's not a good look.
385
00:30:17,751 --> 00:30:20,250
How about this?
386
00:30:20,250 --> 00:30:23,486
You get the broadcast
and the promo ready ahead of time,
387
00:30:23,486 --> 00:30:25,584
so the second the order drops,
388
00:30:25,584 --> 00:30:28,690
you can fire it off immediately.
389
00:30:28,690 --> 00:30:30,125
In exchange,
390
00:30:30,125 --> 00:30:31,663
I take the promo footage first.
391
00:30:31,663 --> 00:30:34,583
On the condition nothing leaks to the press.
392
00:30:34,583 --> 00:30:38,177
That's the deal.
393
00:30:44,042 --> 00:30:46,060
Fair enough.
394
00:30:56,857 --> 00:30:59,891
The angle shouldn't just be
one person's dirty laundry.
395
00:30:59,891 --> 00:31:05,705
It should expose the rot
in Korea's elite class.
396
00:31:08,042 --> 00:31:10,084
What do you say?
397
00:31:16,583 --> 00:31:19,123
[The WR Family's Dirty Secrets,
Coming Up on MJN 9 News!]
398
00:31:22,007 --> 00:31:25,417
The founding family of WR Group,
the third-largest conglomerate in Korea,
399
00:31:25,417 --> 00:31:27,302
[WR Director Charged with Murder-for-Hire]
is now implicated in a murder-for-hire.
400
00:31:27,302 --> 00:31:30,438
[Hit Ordered Through Broker, Evidence Destroyed]
Shocking video evidence has surfaced.
401
00:31:43,362 --> 00:31:46,015
[Hwang Yong Deok]
[Promise kept. Exposé stops at WR]
402
00:32:08,283 --> 00:32:11,709
The founding family of WR Group,
the third-largest conglomerate in Korea,
403
00:32:11,709 --> 00:32:15,892
is now implicated in a murder-for-hire.
Shocking video evidence has surfaced.
404
00:32:15,892 --> 00:32:18,558
The director of WR Entertainment,
who is also the chairman's spouse...
405
00:32:18,558 --> 00:32:20,257
- a Ms. Lee, is alleged to have ordered
- This is the 9 o'clock news promo
406
00:32:20,257 --> 00:32:21,125
the hit through a broker,
407
00:32:21,125 --> 00:32:22,834
- we secured by giving MJN the source material.
- and is suspected of tampering
408
00:32:22,834 --> 00:32:25,027
with evidence to make the scene
409
00:32:25,027 --> 00:32:27,454
look like a suicide.
410
00:32:27,454 --> 00:32:28,618
Tonight at nine...
411
00:32:28,618 --> 00:32:30,365
- What is this?
- An MJN exclusive.
412
00:32:30,365 --> 00:32:33,334
I don't remember giving any order like this.
413
00:32:44,840 --> 00:32:46,426
The Changjo Party got their hands on this.
414
00:32:46,426 --> 00:32:48,800
It's CEO Yoon from Daeyang Fund.
His testimony, filmed before he died.
415
00:32:48,800 --> 00:32:50,751
I'm Yoon Sang Hyun, CEO of Daeyang Fund.
416
00:32:50,751 --> 00:32:53,104
And it goes public tonight.
417
00:32:57,675 --> 00:33:00,505
Assemblyman Son Guk Won
418
00:33:00,505 --> 00:33:03,773
used my fund to build a slush fund,
419
00:33:03,773 --> 00:33:06,751
and when the truth started closing in,
420
00:33:06,751 --> 00:33:09,745
he tried to have me killed.
421
00:33:14,042 --> 00:33:15,483
This is
422
00:33:15,483 --> 00:33:18,914
the bug they planted in my car.
423
00:33:18,914 --> 00:33:21,340
And it's proof.
424
00:33:25,792 --> 00:33:28,622
Knew it. You really are a wolf.
425
00:33:28,622 --> 00:33:30,933
This is Lee Yang Mi's playbook, move for move.
426
00:33:33,375 --> 00:33:38,149
So what's your endgame here?
427
00:33:43,784 --> 00:33:47,283
Drop Lee Yang Mi and pick me.
428
00:33:50,459 --> 00:33:52,548
And once you're in office,
429
00:33:52,548 --> 00:33:56,292
I want the Senior Secretary
for Civil Affairs seat.
430
00:33:59,250 --> 00:34:03,132
Once a mad dog, always a mad dog.
431
00:34:08,000 --> 00:34:10,340
I told you,
432
00:34:10,340 --> 00:34:12,092
I trust your brain,
433
00:34:12,092 --> 00:34:14,389
but not your heart.
434
00:34:14,389 --> 00:34:16,766
Remember that?
435
00:34:16,766 --> 00:34:20,519
That nuclear bomb the Changjo Party's
holding right now,
436
00:34:20,519 --> 00:34:24,119
isn't that the evidence you got
from the Shadow during the general election?
437
00:34:24,119 --> 00:34:26,292
Your wife was hanging off a cliff,
438
00:34:26,292 --> 00:34:28,375
and you still held on to your last card
439
00:34:28,375 --> 00:34:32,036
for yourself.
Tell me, how do I trust a man like that?
440
00:34:35,067 --> 00:34:36,827
You need to trust the choice
441
00:34:36,827 --> 00:34:39,835
he made when he held that card back.
442
00:34:40,627 --> 00:34:42,918
Even if he'd played that card,
443
00:34:42,918 --> 00:34:46,467
it still wouldn't have buried my story.
444
00:34:47,657 --> 00:34:51,172
Tae Seop wasn't abandoning me back then.
445
00:34:51,172 --> 00:34:54,178
He was protecting my future,
446
00:34:54,178 --> 00:34:56,852
waiting for a moment exactly like today.
447
00:35:01,057 --> 00:35:02,942
Either way,
448
00:35:04,083 --> 00:35:07,480
I'm not cutting Lee Yang Mi loose.
449
00:35:07,480 --> 00:35:09,024
And even if I wanted to, I can't.
450
00:35:09,024 --> 00:35:10,918
You'll regret this.
451
00:35:10,918 --> 00:35:14,328
Throwing away the small fish
to catch the big one?
452
00:35:16,043 --> 00:35:19,043
If the small fish eats the big fish,
453
00:35:19,043 --> 00:35:23,129
is that still a big fish or a small fish?
454
00:35:25,730 --> 00:35:28,962
You want WR? Then choose me.
455
00:35:28,962 --> 00:35:32,680
You'll see why soon enough.
456
00:35:37,167 --> 00:35:40,980
It's the exact amount
Director Lee promised you in slush money.
457
00:35:42,303 --> 00:35:46,110
No strings attached. It's clean money.
458
00:35:46,997 --> 00:35:51,235
MJN is locked and loaded to run
the Director Lee Yang Mi story tonight.
459
00:35:51,235 --> 00:35:53,083
[MJN President Lim Won Guk]
When you've made up your mind,
460
00:35:53,083 --> 00:35:55,453
call this number.
461
00:36:01,250 --> 00:36:05,504
I believe in your judgment.
462
00:36:27,584 --> 00:36:31,864
Hello, sir. This is Son Guk Won.
463
00:36:40,042 --> 00:36:41,441
Good evening, everyone.
464
00:36:41,441 --> 00:36:43,287
This is the 9 o'clock news.
465
00:36:43,287 --> 00:36:45,453
Our top story tonight involves
the country's third-largest conglomerate.
466
00:36:45,453 --> 00:36:47,686
The dark secrets of the WR family.
467
00:36:47,686 --> 00:36:50,500
[WR Ent. Director Accused of Murder]
The wife of WR Group Chairman Kwon Se Myeong
468
00:36:50,500 --> 00:36:52,626
and WR Entertainment director,
identified only as Ms. Lee,
469
00:36:52,626 --> 00:36:54,834
has been named as the real culprit
470
00:36:54,834 --> 00:36:58,216
behind the murder of Mr. Park
that rocked the nation.
471
00:36:58,216 --> 00:37:01,180
[Arrest Warrant Issued for Director Lee]
MJN has obtained the evidence exclusively.
472
00:37:01,180 --> 00:37:04,725
Investigators have detained suspect Mr. Cheon,
473
00:37:04,725 --> 00:37:06,959
[Broker MeTuber Choi: Key Link to Ms. Lee]
and secured a statement that MeTuber Mr. Choi,
474
00:37:06,959 --> 00:37:09,018
acted under orders from Ms. Lee, a director
475
00:37:09,018 --> 00:37:10,353
[Statement Secured, Manhunt Underway]
- at WR Entertainment, - Yes, Director.
476
00:37:10,353 --> 00:37:12,147
- who allegedly gave the kill order.
- It's done.
477
00:37:12,147 --> 00:37:13,982
- A full investigation is now underway.
- You didn't leave a trace, did you?
478
00:37:13,982 --> 00:37:16,659
[CCTV Audio Restored]
It needs to look like a suicide. No exceptions.
479
00:37:20,905 --> 00:37:22,265
An anonymous tip has surfaced
480
00:37:22,265 --> 00:37:24,083
with video evidence
suggesting that Mr. Park's death,
481
00:37:24,083 --> 00:37:29,497
which shocked the nation,
was ordered by the WR family.
482
00:37:29,497 --> 00:37:30,665
WR Entertainment director
483
00:37:30,665 --> 00:37:32,584
- Hey!
- and spouse of the Chairman, Ms. Lee...
484
00:37:32,584 --> 00:37:34,546
What the hell happened
with the Son Guk Won story?
485
00:37:34,546 --> 00:37:37,151
You useless piece of shit!
486
00:37:37,151 --> 00:37:40,209
- Overseeing multiple subsidiaries...
- Middleman broker, MeTuber Mr. Choi...
487
00:37:46,827 --> 00:37:49,497
WR Entertainment director...
488
00:37:49,497 --> 00:37:51,570
A chaebol family's shocking true colors
have been laid bare.
489
00:37:51,570 --> 00:37:52,971
This murder-for-hire also
leads back to WR Group...
490
00:37:52,971 --> 00:37:57,115
Ms. Lee, a director at WR Entertainment
and the wife of the chairman...
491
00:37:57,115 --> 00:37:58,943
WR is at the center of this...
492
00:37:58,943 --> 00:38:02,322
There are still more cases yet to surface...
493
00:38:02,322 --> 00:38:04,456
Tonight at nine...
494
00:38:24,844 --> 00:38:26,542
She's coming out!
495
00:38:26,542 --> 00:38:28,203
There she is!
496
00:38:33,520 --> 00:38:35,083
Let go of me!
497
00:38:35,083 --> 00:38:37,607
Get your hands off me!
498
00:38:37,607 --> 00:38:38,793
Any comment?
499
00:38:38,793 --> 00:38:42,077
Let go of me!
500
00:38:43,459 --> 00:38:46,037
Democracy is dead in this country!
501
00:38:46,037 --> 00:38:49,083
I'm being framed!
502
00:38:49,083 --> 00:38:51,477
- Why did you kill Park Jae Sang?
- Get off me!
503
00:38:51,477 --> 00:38:52,624
Let go!
504
00:38:52,624 --> 00:38:54,378
This is a witch hunt!
505
00:38:54,378 --> 00:38:56,592
Get off!
506
00:39:03,508 --> 00:39:06,935
From in there.
507
00:39:11,766 --> 00:39:19,065
Enjoy your stay. A nice, long one.
508
00:39:32,500 --> 00:39:34,225
You little...
509
00:39:35,331 --> 00:39:37,374
You're dead! You hear me?
510
00:39:44,688 --> 00:39:46,584
MeTuber Mr. Choi has been
511
00:39:46,584 --> 00:39:49,137
on Ms. Lee Yang Mi's payroll since last year,
512
00:39:49,137 --> 00:39:51,667
[MeTuber Choi Arrested This Afternoon]
pumping out vicious rumors and fake stories...
513
00:39:51,667 --> 00:39:53,709
Considering the circumstances
around Oh Kwang Jae's murder
514
00:39:53,709 --> 00:39:55,380
[Charged with Spreading Rumors on Orders]
and the allegations
515
00:39:55,380 --> 00:39:57,918
tying Chairman Kwon Se Myeong to it,
516
00:39:57,918 --> 00:40:00,815
evidence now shows they've been running
517
00:40:00,815 --> 00:40:04,000
a systematic campaign
of media manipulation and cover-ups
518
00:40:04,000 --> 00:40:05,711
- I only did what she ordered.
- to bury the WR family's dirty secrets.
519
00:40:05,711 --> 00:40:07,959
Prosecutors believe
this is just the tip of the iceberg,
520
00:40:07,959 --> 00:40:09,959
[Chairman Kwon Tied to Oh Kwang Jae Case?]
and that even more high-profile figures
521
00:40:09,959 --> 00:40:12,493
[Singer Jung Yun Seo, Actress Ryu Ji Eun]
are suspected of illegal involvement
522
00:40:12,493 --> 00:40:14,078
[Ondam Hotel: The "Entertainment" Protocol]
with aspiring entertainers.
523
00:40:14,078 --> 00:40:17,030
They intend to widen the investigation.
524
00:40:17,030 --> 00:40:22,170
Mr. Nam, who was locked up last April
for the murder of rookie actress Ms. Hwang,
525
00:40:22,170 --> 00:40:26,640
has been cleared of all charges
and walked free this morning after ten months.
526
00:41:40,248 --> 00:41:43,500
Petit! Petit! Petit!
527
00:41:43,500 --> 00:41:46,553
My man, Tae Seop!
528
00:41:48,042 --> 00:41:51,225
I knew you had it in you.
529
00:41:51,958 --> 00:41:55,375
I already made sure the prosecutors throw
at least twenty years at Lee Yang Mi,
530
00:41:55,375 --> 00:41:57,467
so relax, all right?
531
00:41:57,467 --> 00:42:00,518
And Father looks like he'll
check out right on schedule.
532
00:42:00,518 --> 00:42:05,459
From here on, it's just us.
We back each other up and rise together.
533
00:42:05,459 --> 00:42:07,250
Right.
534
00:42:07,250 --> 00:42:10,827
Funny how the timing lined up so perfectly,
isn't it?
535
00:42:11,863 --> 00:42:14,115
The timing was so perfect,
536
00:42:14,115 --> 00:42:17,584
I did a deep dive into WR Hospital,
537
00:42:17,584 --> 00:42:21,088
where your father's doctor works.
538
00:42:26,335 --> 00:42:27,628
[VIP Ward Medical Inventory Ledger]
539
00:42:27,628 --> 00:42:28,713
See right there?
540
00:42:28,713 --> 00:42:33,428
Aspirin, ordered regularly,
all on your instructions.
541
00:42:33,428 --> 00:42:37,006
Aspirin is basically poison
for someone with kidney failure.
542
00:42:37,006 --> 00:42:39,898
So why was it being ordered like clockwork?
543
00:42:43,728 --> 00:42:46,397
When the Chairman dies, they'll do an autopsy.
544
00:42:46,397 --> 00:42:49,484
Aspirin shows up in the toxicology,
545
00:42:49,484 --> 00:42:52,703
but there's nothing on the chart.
546
00:42:53,614 --> 00:42:56,623
That's malpractice
547
00:42:57,708 --> 00:43:00,002
and murder by proxy, isn't it?
548
00:43:04,667 --> 00:43:07,709
- Look, just hear me out.
- You know,
549
00:43:07,709 --> 00:43:09,943
you might actually end up
550
00:43:09,943 --> 00:43:12,931
outlasting your pretty stepmother behind bars.
551
00:43:16,216 --> 00:43:18,209
I thought you were an idiot...
552
00:43:18,209 --> 00:43:22,190
but you turned the family doctor
and tried to kill your own father.
553
00:43:24,417 --> 00:43:27,843
What the hell?
This isn't some medieval dynasty.
554
00:43:27,843 --> 00:43:30,470
All for that WR throne,
555
00:43:30,470 --> 00:43:33,493
you really outdid yourself. I'll give you that.
556
00:43:38,542 --> 00:43:40,792
Oh, come on...
557
00:43:49,171 --> 00:43:51,798
WR's already on your side,
558
00:43:51,798 --> 00:43:54,215
so why are you pulling this?
559
00:43:54,215 --> 00:43:57,250
I'm the one who's taking you
560
00:43:57,250 --> 00:44:01,939
all the way to the Blue House.
So what is your problem?
561
00:44:03,560 --> 00:44:06,563
Deep down, you know
562
00:44:06,563 --> 00:44:09,571
how incompetent you are
better than anyone else.
563
00:44:10,450 --> 00:44:14,576
You'll turn WR into a house of cards.
564
00:44:15,656 --> 00:44:19,434
I finally have WR under my heel.
565
00:44:19,434 --> 00:44:20,500
I'm not about to watch it crumble.
566
00:44:20,500 --> 00:44:23,125
- You piece of shit.
- No.
567
00:44:23,125 --> 00:44:25,997
That's not it!
568
00:44:25,997 --> 00:44:28,186
Choose carefully.
569
00:44:28,186 --> 00:44:30,334
Spend the rest of your life rotting in a cell
570
00:44:30,334 --> 00:44:33,512
as the man who killed his own father,
571
00:44:34,250 --> 00:44:36,927
or hold on to whatever's left
572
00:44:36,927 --> 00:44:39,393
of that empty throne.
573
00:44:50,959 --> 00:44:52,948
Sir.
574
00:44:54,250 --> 00:44:58,245
From now on,
every single decision about this Group
575
00:45:00,042 --> 00:45:03,208
goes through me.
576
00:45:16,709 --> 00:45:18,598
Petit.
577
00:45:27,216 --> 00:45:30,485
The real owner of WR
578
00:45:33,000 --> 00:45:35,240
just changed.
579
00:45:48,792 --> 00:45:52,951
Standing where I've always dreamed of standing,
580
00:45:52,951 --> 00:45:56,261
so many faces flood back.
581
00:45:58,840 --> 00:46:01,933
Oh Kwang Jae, who pushed me into this world
582
00:46:02,697 --> 00:46:05,937
and plunged straight into hell,
583
00:46:08,584 --> 00:46:12,152
and the revolting eyes
584
00:46:13,417 --> 00:46:16,239
of every man who held the power.
585
00:46:16,857 --> 00:46:20,114
[Four Seasons]
586
00:46:25,959 --> 00:46:29,455
I'd like to thank the trash reporters
587
00:46:29,455 --> 00:46:32,334
who used their precious little fingers
588
00:46:32,334 --> 00:46:34,966
to manufacture my life.
589
00:46:36,004 --> 00:46:38,804
Thank you.
590
00:46:50,042 --> 00:46:51,900
And
591
00:46:53,496 --> 00:46:56,780
to Director Lee Yang Mi,
592
00:46:57,651 --> 00:47:02,494
who ripped out my beating heart
and left me with nothing but agony,
593
00:47:04,292 --> 00:47:07,707
my sincerest thanks.
594
00:47:17,334 --> 00:47:21,096
That we were able to climb this far
595
00:47:22,277 --> 00:47:25,834
is all thanks to your petty rage
596
00:47:25,834 --> 00:47:28,645
and your dirty tricks.
597
00:47:44,250 --> 00:47:46,450
And
598
00:47:46,450 --> 00:47:51,293
to Bang Tae Seop,
who never threw me away, never let me die,
599
00:47:52,619 --> 00:47:56,339
even when I was just his shield,
and stood by me all the way here.
600
00:47:57,053 --> 00:47:59,801
Thank you.
601
00:48:08,709 --> 00:48:10,854
What were we even bleeding for,
602
00:48:12,626 --> 00:48:15,859
dragging ourselves,
603
00:48:18,582 --> 00:48:21,698
all the way here?
604
00:48:33,792 --> 00:48:36,546
Why did we have to survive
605
00:48:38,919 --> 00:48:41,551
every single one of those moments?
606
00:49:49,181 --> 00:49:51,116
Through every one
607
00:49:51,116 --> 00:49:53,957
of these impossible trials,
608
00:49:54,644 --> 00:49:59,296
the reason I never gave up
and made it to this stage
609
00:50:01,667 --> 00:50:04,342
is them.
610
00:50:05,233 --> 00:50:07,387
I dedicate this honor
611
00:50:10,417 --> 00:50:12,976
to them.
612
00:50:17,142 --> 00:50:19,416
Thank you.
613
00:51:36,542 --> 00:51:38,937
Congratulations.
614
00:51:42,394 --> 00:51:44,609
Chu Sang Ah.
615
00:52:24,704 --> 00:52:26,584
Make sure everything stays on track.
616
00:52:26,584 --> 00:52:28,736
Yes, sir.
617
00:52:38,367 --> 00:52:40,756
But you know what?
618
00:52:40,756 --> 00:52:44,252
Aren't you a little too young
to be Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs?
619
00:52:47,125 --> 00:52:52,024
Well, nobody said
old politics makes for good politics.
620
00:52:52,024 --> 00:52:54,137
Just like this script right here.
621
00:53:09,980 --> 00:53:12,547
My fellow citizens,
622
00:53:12,547 --> 00:53:14,973
and members of the press,
623
00:53:14,973 --> 00:53:18,866
today marks the 100th day
of our new administration.
624
00:53:18,866 --> 00:53:22,908
I'm here to reflect
on where we may have fallen short.
625
00:53:22,908 --> 00:53:26,036
I'm here to reflect
on where we may have fallen short.
626
00:53:26,036 --> 00:53:28,667
And to recommit ourselves to our mission.
627
00:53:28,667 --> 00:53:32,296
And to recommit ourselves to our mission.
628
00:53:32,296 --> 00:53:34,086
One-second pause.
629
00:53:34,086 --> 00:53:36,004
[Blue House, Republic of Korea]
630
00:53:36,004 --> 00:53:39,792
45 degrees right.
631
00:53:39,792 --> 00:53:41,643
And smile.
632
00:53:43,125 --> 00:53:44,681
First.
633
00:53:44,681 --> 00:53:48,395
I'd like to express my gratitude to the people.
634
00:53:48,395 --> 00:53:53,108
Thanks to your unwavering support,
635
00:53:53,108 --> 00:53:57,242
we've been able to govern without disruption.
636
00:53:58,833 --> 00:54:01,155
With the Seoam mayoral race just ten days out,
637
00:54:01,155 --> 00:54:04,074
[Doyak's Bang Tae Seop on the Trail]
former Senior Secretary Bang Tae Seop
638
00:54:04,074 --> 00:54:06,246
is leading in the polls.
639
00:54:06,246 --> 00:54:09,955
After spearheading sweeping reforms
of prosecution and law enforcement,
640
00:54:09,955 --> 00:54:12,499
Candidate Bang's approval has soared,
641
00:54:12,499 --> 00:54:14,961
and he's not just the frontrunner
for Seoam Mayor,
642
00:54:14,961 --> 00:54:16,776
[Youth Support Fuels Presidential Buzz]
he's already being talked about
643
00:54:16,776 --> 00:54:19,173
as a serious contender for the presidency.
644
00:54:19,173 --> 00:54:20,632
One last question.
645
00:54:20,632 --> 00:54:23,793
What does Chu Sang Ah mean to you?
646
00:54:23,793 --> 00:54:26,474
My wife and I have fought through
647
00:54:26,474 --> 00:54:29,478
countless hardships together.
648
00:54:29,478 --> 00:54:32,709
For someone who still has a long road ahead,
649
00:54:32,709 --> 00:54:34,988
she's my one and only ally.
650
00:54:36,838 --> 00:54:40,827
[Doyak Party, Bang Tae Seop]
We need to head in. Let's wrap it here.
651
00:54:41,657 --> 00:54:42,751
Thank you.
652
00:54:42,751 --> 00:54:44,667
Thank you.
653
00:54:44,667 --> 00:54:48,710
Oh, by the way,
did you hear about the WR family?
654
00:54:53,940 --> 00:54:54,958
[WR Chairman Kwon Regains Consciousness,
Signaling Return]
655
00:54:54,958 --> 00:54:58,553
[Second son Kwon Jong Il rumored to return,
replacing Director Lee Yang Mi]
656
00:54:58,553 --> 00:55:02,125
WR Group Chairman Kwon Se Myeong,
one of Korea's biggest names in business,
657
00:55:02,125 --> 00:55:05,866
has reportedly woken up
after his long fight with illness.
658
00:55:05,866 --> 00:55:08,222
There are also reports
that his second son, Kwon Jong Il,
659
00:55:08,222 --> 00:55:10,827
is stepping back into management,
660
00:55:10,827 --> 00:55:15,278
and all eyes are
on WR Group's leadership shakeup.
661
00:55:28,408 --> 00:55:34,370
[Director Lee Yang Mi to be Released
via Special Pardon on the 20th]
662
00:55:44,803 --> 00:55:48,862
[Caller ID Restricted]
663
00:55:57,211 --> 00:55:59,311
This is Cheongseong Penitentiary.
664
00:55:59,311 --> 00:56:02,867
This call may be monitored.
665
00:56:11,626 --> 00:56:13,836
Chu Sang Ah.
666
00:56:27,346 --> 00:56:29,918
I'll be seeing you
667
00:56:29,918 --> 00:56:31,729
very soon.
668
00:56:54,039 --> 00:56:55,549
[Waiting Room: Chu Sang Ah]
669
00:57:39,542 --> 00:57:41,795
Sang Ah.
670
00:57:41,795 --> 00:57:43,792
Sang Ah.
671
00:57:43,792 --> 00:57:45,553
Sang Ah.
672
00:58:05,918 --> 00:58:07,867
Sang Ah.
673
00:58:08,626 --> 00:58:10,536
Sang Ah.
674
00:58:12,584 --> 00:58:13,918
Sang Ah.
675
00:58:13,918 --> 00:58:15,750
Sang Ah.
676
00:58:31,042 --> 00:58:32,585
Sang Ah, stay with me.
677
00:58:32,585 --> 00:58:35,394
Sang Ah!
678
00:58:59,069 --> 00:59:01,671
Where am I?
679
00:59:05,331 --> 00:59:08,090
Are you with me?
680
00:59:08,090 --> 00:59:09,971
Are you okay?
681
00:59:14,096 --> 00:59:16,644
Is this hell?
682
00:59:44,626 --> 00:59:46,632
Yeah...
683
00:59:48,837 --> 00:59:50,970
It's hell.
684
01:02:04,930 --> 01:02:08,149
Ladies and gentlemen,
the moment you've been waiting for.
685
01:02:09,048 --> 01:02:11,539
Please welcome Candidate Bang Tae Seop
686
01:02:11,539 --> 01:02:14,209
and his lifelong partner,
687
01:02:14,209 --> 01:02:16,535
actress Chu Sang Ah!
688
01:04:33,036 --> 01:04:38,976
[To our climax: shattered, but never broken]
